Title: Half success
Post by: MrManor on February 04, 2013, 11:03:38 AM
OpenSUSE 12.2. has Yate-Qt 4.1 in the repository. So that is the version tested. I have a working Asterisk and my main goal was to get a IAX capable client on my labtop so  I can call home when on the road. SIP is often problematic when behind a enemy firewall .

Install and setup was no problem and I really liked the clean, fast and simple interface. I had success in dialing out with voice working both way. I was starting to really like Yate-Qt  ;D

Next I tried to dial in and sure enough there was a ring-tone from the labtop speaker. I hit Answer .. and got: "Failed to open audio"   :o  Later I found out that when dialing out I also had to made sure nothing else was using the sound system. I think that yate cant receive calls because it itself is using the sound card for the ring-tone.

You guys really should support pulse audio, it would make your client usable.
