Yate users hangout place / using Ubuntu PC platform
« on: June 29, 2017, 12:54:17 PM »
We have started with yateBTS using the raspberrypi platform with bladerf as shown at https://blog.strcpy.info/2016/04/21/building-a-portable-gsm-bts-using-bladerf-raspberry-and-yatebts-the-definitive-guide/
However we noticed the raspberrypi cannot keep up with the processing ( numerous Transmit underrun) and cannot provide enough power to bladerf.
So we moved the raspberrypi installation steps to Ubuntu 16.04. And it works better We are seeing several gsm intermittent problems.
Since not sure if the raspberrypi installation steps are Ok for Ubuntu, we would like to know if there are better installation instructions steps to follow using Ubuntu ?
What is the starting point of instructions to follow to use Ubuntu as the platform for yateBTS ?
And if Ubuntu 16.04 is OK to use ?
And if using RPM is good start as noticed rpm for Linux: http://yate.null.ro/tarballs/yate5/yate-5.5.0-1.tar.gz
listed at http://docs.yate.ro/wiki/Download#Downloadable ?
Or what do you recommend ?
