there is a choice in the menu to configure an account
but i'm unable to connect to my account
Reason: Not Acceptable (rejected)

is there anything to change in the settings

when i try to edit my account in yateclient  the "use provider " setting
as changed from to none ......

Use provider is applied when selected. It is used to fill protocol and other data.
On subsequent account edit the original provider data is ignored: you can change data as you wish.

Maybe you have to set different server/username?

Can you post a log?
