What data yate uses ?

hello every one,
i'm working on a project using yatebts with a bladerf board, and i need to know what kind of data does yate receives from the bladerf  ( i mean is it binary type or GSM frames or something else?), it's really important for me so if any one can answer me i would be truly grateful.

The bladerf board works with radio samples.

But i know that, i need to know what exactly is the type of data trasmetted by the bladerf to Yate system on my computer, and if possible how does yate process it...
